Cursus LIBB: Linux Basis Beheer 1.995,00 EUR 5 dagen

This course is an introduction to the use of Linux. Participants will not just learn how to operate the system according to instructions, but will receive solid fundamental knowledge about Linux, to serve as a basis for further study.

Cursus LIAB: Linux Advanced Beheer 1.995,00 EUR 5 dagen

The first part of this course continues the introductory Linux curriculum and builds on The Linux Basis Beheer. The goal of this course is firstly to give administrators more confidence in working with the Linux kernel; secondly, it contains a solid introduction to the Bourne-Again Shell as a programming language and illustrates common shell scripting techniques in use for system administration, the automation of standard procedures and system customisation.

Part two explains the basic administration of local TCP/IP networks using Linux. After an introduction to networking and TCP/IP we explain how to configure Linux systems for network use. We introduce various methods of making networking services available and controlling them. Afterwards we discuss the services most essential for local networking; remote system access using the 'secure shell', the Domain Name System (DNS), the DHCP dynamic configuration service, and the RPC-based services NFS (network file system) and NIS (network-based user and configuration data management).
